Obox Celebrates its Second Birthday with Freemium WordPress Theme

OboxObox celebrated their second birthday yesterday! It all actually started six years ago by brothers David and Mark Perel. Back then, Obox focused on providing web development services. Then, on July 7, 2009, they relaunched as a commercial theme shop and since then have grown into a team of four offering more than 40 themes mostly for WordPress but also for Tumblr and Posterous.

They are celebrating their birthday by giving you a free WordPress theme called Casual (Live Demo). Their approach with this “freemium” theme is to include a useful set of standard features for free while making an upgrade for advanced features such as a typography manager, ad manager, SEO options and a portfolio template available for $50. If this model proves successful, you can expect more “freemium” themes from Obox.
